Ryan Muir is a veteran freelance photographer and videography consultant based in Brooklyn, New York.

His specialties include work in music, film, stage performance and candid documentary photography. He also shoots unique wedding and productions stills with professional expertise.

Born in Vancouver, BC, raised in Manhattan and a graduate of Stuyvesant High School, Ryan later majored in film studies at Vassar College. With dual Canadian/Irish citizenship Ryan is prepared for work by contract in the United States, Canada, and the European Union.

Ryan's work appears in many prestigious publications like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, SPIN, Rolling Stone and Vibe Magazine as well as an array of Corporate and Institutional Clients. With an archive photos of hundreds of popular musicians Ryan also contributes to several popular music blogs like Pitchfork, and Stereogum and Brooklynvegan.

Ryan has acted as house photographer for the Celebrate Brooklyn! Summer series in Prospect Park since the Summer of 2009, and has gone on tour with up-and-coming bands such as Das Racist, and has shot on-stage with troupes such as Cirque du Soleil, and Alvin Ailey II dance company. Ryan's commitment and versatility has led to a long list of satisfied clients.
